A Message from the Creator of Cryptid Camp TCG
Reignite the imagination you had in childhood with Cryptid Camp!
Everything we see and experience in our world is limited by our perception and mindset, which tends to encompass more of reality when we are young.
As a neuroscientist and meditator, from a perspective of science and spirituality, I have no doubt that most of existence is beyond our perception, even if it's right in front of us—or even a part of us. In Cryptid Camp, you can use magical lanterns to see Cryptids, Legends, and Magic that we haven't noticed before—or perhaps just don't remember seeing.
I invite you to reignite your childhood imagination and see the magic in your every day! Help others rekindle their imagination with Cryptid Camp as you collect Magical Stone Lanterns and Evidence to prove the existence of as many Cryptids as possible to those without your enhanced perception.
I have always enjoyed traditional Trading Card Games centered around battling opponents, depleting their resources, and gathering power. However, I sometimes grow tired of just battling and need to play something less centered around conflict, like a resource-gathering board game. From this desire for a more relaxed yet still collectible game, Cryptid Camp gameplay was born!
All eight of our Cabins begin with traits that are often considered negative, as though they need to be discarded for something better. In Cryptid Camp, we believe that you can't acquire what's considered “good” without starting from what’s seen as “bad.” As an Obsidian Camper myself, I am prone to depression, and I work every day to train my mind to accept that what causes me sadness—the quick and unforeseen changes or impermanence of life—also empowers me to overcome any challenge by remembering that no matter the obstacle, it is also impermanent. I know it will be temporary, and I learn to appreciate what I have in each moment, knowing it too is temporary. In other words, without the potential for sadness and depression, happiness cannot exist. As an Obsidian Camper, I train my mind in this path.
Train your mind without discarding where you are in life with Cryptid Camp’s lore! Find your own cabin and learn more about our cabins, their symbols, stones, and treasures! Try the game with our Tabletop Simulator module with one of our Starter Decks on Steam!
